A 16-month-old boy was reportedly injured by a 300-pound security robot at a California shopping mall, ABC7 News reports.

The child's mother told ABC7 that the Stanford Shopping Center robot hit the toddler's head, knocking him down, and then continued to roll over his leg.

The child suffered a swollen foot and a scrape on his leg, but wasn't seriously injured.

The robot is "designed to alert authorities of abnormal noises, sudden environmental changes, and known criminals," ABC7 reported.
