1. Trooper killed: A Virginia state trooper was killed when a man opened fire at a bus terminal in Richmond Thursday. According to authorities, the gunman, whose identity has not yet been released, was also killed in the incident that happened as law enforcement was holding a training exercise at the bus station. The trooper, Chad Dermyer, 37, and two bystanders were shot. The two bystanders' injuries were not considered life-threatening.

2. New minimum: The California Legislature has passed a bill that would raise the minimum wage in the state to $15  an hour. The increase would take effect in  2022. The minimum wage in California is currently $10 an hour.

3. That's not what I meant: Donald Trump told Fox News Thursday that he "could have misspoke" Wednesday when he said if abortion was to become illegal and a woman had one that she should "be punished." Trump said his answer came after MSNBC's Chris Matthews asked a "convoluted question," and that he has long believed that abortion providers, not women, should be held responsible for illegal abortions. Trump came under fire from nearly every quarter after the interview with Matthews Wednesday. Following the interview he released two statements to clarify his remarks as both Democrats and Republicans called him out.

4. Stormy Friday: A large portion of the country is dealing with strong storms as a powerful front moves across  the United States. Storms that spawned tornadoes in Oklahoma Wednesday, did likewise in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama Thursday evening.

5. Final Four: Oklahoma, North Carolina, Villanova and Syracuse will play Saturday night for a chance to advance to the Men's Basketball Championship. The winners of the Oklahoma vs. Villanova (6:09 p.m. ET) and North Carolina vs Syracuse (8:49 p.m. ET) games will play each other in Monday's championship game.
