Here's a roundup of news trending across the nation and world today.

What to know now:

1. Shkreli arrest: In what was, if social media is any judge, one of the most satisfying arrests in history, pharmaceutical CEO Martin Shkreli was taken into custody on charges he bilked a company out  of millions of dollars. Shkreli  became infamous when overnight he jacked up the price of a life-saving AIDS drug from $13.50 a pill to $750 for one tablet. He is known for his self-promotion, but did little to endear himself to the public as he boasted he was "the world's most eligible bachelor" and "the most successful Albanian to ever walk the face of this Earth." He faces charges he lied about losing investors' money then took  assets from one of his companies to pay off debtors in another.

2. President to visit San Bernardino: President Obama will meet privately on Friday with the families of those killed in the terror attack in San Bernardino, Calif.  Obama will stop there on his way to Hawaii for his annual Christmas vacation. Fourteen people were killed in the attack at a holiday party there earlier this month.

3. James crashes into Day's wife:  In a scary scene Thursday, Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James crashed into the wife of pro golfer Jason Day during a game, knocking Ellie Day to the ground as he landed on her. James was going for a loose ball during the game with the Oklahoma City Thunder when he fell into Day as she and her husband sat courtside watching the game. Later, James who is 6'8 and weighs 250 pounds said, "She squeezed my hand and said she was fine. I think she was just a little weary. For me, obviously, her health is very important and hopefully she is doing well. The guys told me she's doing great now. For me, just going for a loose ball, I tried to keep the possession going, I just hate that that was the end result." Day, who gave  birth about a month ago, was treated at an area hospital and released.

4. Mother Teresa: The Vatican announced Thursday that Pope Francis has recognized a second miracle attributed to Mother Teresa, thus paving her way to sainthood. The official newspaper of the Italian Catholic  Bishop's Association reported that, "Francis has ratified this evening, Thursday 17 of December, the recognition of the miracle attributed to Mother Teresa of Calcutta … ."There are several steps involved if someone is to be considered a saint in the Catholic church. One is to recognize at least two miracles that are attributed to prayers for the person's intervention with God after they have died.

5. Welcoming refugees: Evangelical leaders from the Southern Baptist Convention, World Relief, the Assemblies  of God and other groups are urging their members to step-up and welcome refugees from Syria and Iraq. The  group on Thursday issued a "Christian Declaration on Caring for Refugees: An Evangelical Response." The declaration comes on the heels of GOP candidate for president Donald Trump's calls to temporarily ban Muslims from entering the country, along with statements by many governors that they will not allow Syrian refugees into their states.

And one more

If you were trying to get tickets to an Adele concert Thursday only to find out they were gone, you were certainly not alone. Fans complained that there were glitches in the ticket-buying system including long waits only to be told that tickets were sold-out in minutes. Some who did get tickets are offering them for sale for thousands of dollars. Adele announced her first American tour in four years last month.

In case you missed it

She does have a point on the "practice" part of the explanation.
