1. Paris raid: A woman blew herself up early Wednesday as a SWAT team stormed an apartment in the St.-Denis suburb of Paris where they suspected the mastermind of last week's terror attacks may have been holed up. A man was also killed there, authorities say. Seven others have been arrested, according to Paris police. It's not known whether Abdelhamid Abaaoud, the Belgian man suspected of organizing the Nov. 13 attacks, was in the apartment at the time of the raid.
2. Flights diverted: Two Air France flights were diverted overnight Tuesday because someone said that there were bombs on the planes. One of the flights left Los Angeles headed for Paris and was diverted to Salt Lake City. The other left the Washington DC area, also headed for Paris, and was ordered to Halifax. The planes were searched and no explosives found.
3. Jindal is out: Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal has dropped out of the race for the Republican nomination for president. Jindal, 44, said Wednesday, "I've come to the realization that this is not my time." He said he is not ready to endorse another candidate at this time.
4. Black Friday early: Amazon is once again stretching the definition of Black Friday. The online company will begin its annual Black Friday sale this Friday and will continue it through next Friday – the actual "Black Friday." Confusing? Probably, but they are promising hundreds of deals. Amazon joins other retailers – Walmart, Target, Best Buy – in offering pre-Black Friday specials.
5. Obama on refugees: President Obama told politicians who want to close American boarders to Syrian refugees not to be afraid of "widows and three-year-old orphans." Obama, speaking in the Philippines Wednesday, chided GOP leaders and governors who have said they want to block Syrian refugees from entering the country.
