What to know now:

1. Clinton nomination: Hillary Clinton has clinched the Democratic presidential nomination, according to several media outlets, making her the first woman in American history to become the presumptive nominee of a major political party. Surveys of the voting intentions of  "superdelegates" – unpledged Democratic convention delegates – put Clinton over the number she needed to win the nomination at this summer's convention. Bernie Sanders supporters are crying foul, saying nothing is set in stone until superdelegates vote at the convention. According to the AP, Clinton has 1,812 pledged delegates and 572 superdelegates for a total of 2,384 delegates. You need 2,383 delegates to be named the Democratic nominee.

2. Kimbo Slice dies: Mixed martial arts star Kimbo Slice has died at age 42. Slice, whose given name is Kevin Ferguson, died in a South Florida hospital late Monday. No cause of death has been given, however foul play is not suspected.

4. No charges: Police say there will be no charges against the family of a boy who made his way into a gorilla enclosure at  the Cincinnati Zoo last month. The incident ended with an endangered lowland gorilla named Harambe being shot and killed. The enclosure has been modified and the gorilla exhibit is to be reopened Tuesday.

5. Ryan's plan: Speaker of  the House Paul Ryan is set to unveil a Republican task force plan to implement work requirements for welfare and food stamp recipients, and to cut out layers of bureaucracy in federal assistance programs. Democrats are criticizing the proposals.

And one more

Tropical Storm Colin made landfall in Florida Monday. The storm, with 50 mph winds, dropped up to 10 inches of rain in parts of the state. Colin has moved across the state and back into the Atlantic Ocean. The National Hurricane Center says the storm "should move near and parallel to the coast of the southeastern United States. However, it's important to note that the strongest winds and heaviest rains are well removed from the center."

In case you missed it

I’m guessing this isn’t what the inventor of the Pogo stick had in mind. But, wow!
