1. Killer texted during attack: The man who shot and killed 49 people at a nightclub in Orlando took time out during the attack to exchange text messages with his wife. Omar Mateen texted his wife, Noor Salman, to see if she had been watching news coverage of the rampage. According to investigators, she texted back that she loved him. She tried to call him, officials said, but Mateen never answered her calls.

2. Meat Loaf collapses: Singer Meat Loaf collapsed on stage Thursday while performing in Canada. The 68-year-old was performing "I Would Do Anything For Love" from the 1993 album as an encore when he collapsed. Various videos of the singer going down to the floor were posted to social media by concert-goers. The singer, whose given name is Marvin Lee Aday, has asthma and a condition that causes an irregular heartbeat, according to The Associated Press.

Update: And official statement was released on the reason for his collapse.

3. Bernie is not out: Bernie Sanders spoke to supports Thursday, saying he will work with Hillary Clinton to transform the Democratic Party, but stopped short of conceding the race to the former secretary of State. Sanders said he would work with Clinton to keep Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee from becoming president, but he did not endorse Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee. Sanders won 1,900 delegates in the Democratic primary races.

4. Politician killed: A  British politician was killed Thursday outside of a library in one of the small England towns she represented. Jo Cox, 41, was  shot and stabbed in Birstall  in northern England. No motive yet in the murder. A  assailant was heard to yell, "Britain first!" several times during the attack.

5. Shooter turned down for armor, ammo: The owner of a Florida gun store said he alerted the FBI after Orlando nightclub shooter Omar Mateen tried to purchase a set of full body armor and a large amount of ammunition.  Marteen, according to gun shop owner Robert Abell, asked for body armor the store didn't carry. Reportedly, he made a call after being turned down, spoke in a foreign language, according to an employee, then asked about ammunition in bulk. The employee refused to sell to Mateen, Abell said.

The second flight data recorder from EgyptAir Flight 804 has been recovered, according to investigators. The other "black box," the cockpit voice recorder, was found Thursday in the Mediterranean. The plane crashed on route to Cairo from Paris last month.
