1. GOP Debate: The Republicans gathered in Milwaukee Tuesday for the fourth debate of the 2016 election season. Favorite targets in the two debates included big government, foreign policy, immigration and Democratic frontrunner Hillary Clinton.

2. Fear at Missouri: A day after the two top officials at the University of Missouri resigned, students say they are scared to go to class because of a series of threats that have been flying across social media. The threats are racially charged and warn of violence. Police say they believe the reports of the Ku Klux Klan coming to campus and a reference to a possible shooting are false.
3. Fantasy sports betting banned: New York state has banned DraftKings and FanDuel – two fantasy sports betting sites – from doing business in the state. According to Attorney General Eric Schneiderman, the two sites have been ordered to stop accepting wagers because their practices violate gambling laws in New York.
4. Who is in this week: Clemson, Alabama, Ohio State and Notre Dame are the top four teams in the College Football Playoff rankings this week. The teams that survive the season and are selected by the CFP as the best representatives of college football, will play in two semi-final games on New Year's Eve. The winners of the games will play for the championship.
5. Boy charged in death: An 8-year-old boy has been charged in the beating death of a 1-year-old he was left in charge of, Alabama law enforcement authorities say. According to Birmingham police, the boy hit the child because she wouldn't stop crying. The mother of the boy and her friend, the mother of the dead child, left the children to go out for a night on the town.
