1. Making history: After victories in four of six primaries held Tuesday, Hillary Clinton became the first woman to win the nomination of a major political party in the United States. In her victory speech, Clinton thanked supporters, remembered her mother and honored those who fought for women's voting rights. Despite Clinton's lead in pledged delegates, her opponent, Sen. Bernie Sanders, (I-Vt.), says he will stay in the race until the Democratic convention in Philadelphia in July.

2. Trump's explanation: Donald Trump won all of the five Republican primaries held Tuesday, hours after he issued  a statement saying his remarks about a federal judge were being "misconstrued." Trump, who has come under fire from fellow Republicans, said that his comments about federal Judge Gonzalo Curiel, were not meant to imply "one's heritage makes them incapable of being impartial." Instead, Trump explained, he was questioning whether he was getting a fair trial from Curiel who is overseeing a lawsuit about Trump University.

3. Bicyclists killed: A pickup truck struck a group of bicyclists in Michigan Tuesday night, killing five and injuring four others. The incident  happened around 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in Kalamazoo, Mich. According to police, the driver of the truck fled the scene on foot,  but was caught a short time later. Prior to the crash, police received several reports that the pickup was being driven erratically.

4. Not Alzheimer's: Legendary singer/songwriter Kris Kristofferson said after his memory began failing, he was misdiagnosed with Alzheimer's disease a few years ago.  Kristofferson, who will be 80 this month, told Rolling Stone that doctors first believed his memory loss was due to Alzheimer's, but recently decided to test for something else and discovered the singer has Lyme disease. Kristofferson said with treatment, his memory has returned and he feels better than ever.

5. Actress dies: Theresa Saldana, who starred in "The Commish," and the movie "Raging Bull," but was probably best known for surviving an attack by a stalker in the 1980s, has died. No cause of death has been given. Saldana starred as herself in a TV movie about her stabbing called, "Victims for Victims: The Theresa Saldana Story."

New York State Police say a woman admitted to sabotaging her fiancé's kayak on the Hudson River last year, resulting in the man's death. According to authorities, Angelika Graswald removed a drain plug from Vincent Viafore's kayak and pushed a floating paddle away from him after his kayak overturned. Graswald is charged with second-degree murder. She has pleaded not guilty.
