What to know now:

1. Christie, Huckabee exit stage right: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee have slipped in the polls and will be kick off of the prime-time stage for next Tuesday's Republican debate. It was announced on Fox Business Network (one of the debate's sponsors) that the two did not make the cut.

2. Child's murder: A 9-year-old Chicago boy was the intended target of a gang-related shooting according to Chicago police. Tyshawn Lee was lured into an alley and shot in the head in what Chicago Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said was "probably the most abhorrent, cowardly, unfathomable crime that I've witnessed in 35 years of policing." McCarthy said the boy was targeted because his father had ties to a gang.

3. Native American mascots: President Barack Obama praised sportswear maker Adidas for its efforts to eliminate the  use of Native American mascots from high schools  across the United States. Adidas has promised it will help the schools rebrand if they want to drop mascots or logos that reference Native American tribes or images.

4. BUGA Nation controversy: Some are questioning whether Heisman Trophy candidate Leonard Fournette's family broke NCAA rules when they created a website and produced merchandise to capitalize on the LSU running back's fame.  An online website set up to sell "BUGA Nation" merchandise was shut down on its first day of business with no orders filled, according to Fournette's mother, after the NCAA found out about it. NCAA rules prohibit athletes or family members from profiting from the athlete's name,  likeness or image. Neither the  NCAA nor the SEC say they contacted the Fournette's family about selling the merchandise.

5.  Oprah's favorites: Oprah has released her list of "Favorite Things" for the 2015 holiday season. There's 87 of them. To name a few – a $159 cutting board; a faux fur for your pet; a 5-bottle collection of vodka and an extra large Sonic Snow Tube. It's good to be Oprah.

One of the most anticipated/hyped video games of the year is set to be released Friday. "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" is available for PCs, PlayStation 4,  Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360. The game is set in 2065 and allows the player a first-person shooter experience. It sells  for $59.99.

Those are not planes coming up on that passenger jet, those are people. Jetman Yves Rossy and his sidekick fly next to a jumbo jet over Dubai in his latest stunt. Rossy invented an individual jet pack which uses carbon-fiber wings for flight.  Don’t try this  at home.
