Ben's friend: While Ben Carson has called for those who defraud insurance companies to be sentenced to jail, he has maintained a business relationship with a man convicted of the very same crime. Carson, according to an Associated Press report, testified on behalf of Pittsburgh dentist Alfonso A. Costa, in an effort to gain leniency for the man he says is one of his closest friends. Costa, while pleading guilty to submitting bills for procedures he never performed, did not serve any prison time.

Marston dies: Actor and "One Life to Live" star Nathaniel Marston died Wednesday nearly two weeks after a Nevada car crash left him with internal injuries and broken bones in his neck and back.Marston's mother confirmed on her Facebook page that Marston died Wednesday. He was 40.

Black Friday change: Walmart announced Thursday that it will open for business on Thanksgiving, but not in the way it has done in the past. No more hourly deals on items, the retailer says. Instead, Walmart will offer nearly all the deals it plans to offer both in the store when it opens,  and online at a set time.

Government requests from Facebook: Facebook reported Wednesday that requests from the U.S. government for information about its users soared in the first half of 2015. Government requests for account data went up 18 percent, according to the report. The report was posted on Facebook's website.

Denies using funeral funds: The mother of a boy shot to death in Chicago earlier this month says she didn't use money donated for her son's burial to buy a new car. Karla Lee, mother of Tyshawn Lee, says she saved up the money to buy a 2015 Chrysler 200, and did not use the $17,000 donated for the fourth-grader's funeral. She said she bought the car because she had become fearful of taking public transportation.

The Smithsonian Channel will air a documentary on the final hours of Adolf Hitler's life. "The Day Hitler Died" will present interviews conducted by an attorney at the Nuremburg war crimes trails whose job it was to prove Hitler had died in a bunker in Berlin. It will be the first time viewers outside of Germany will see the interviews filmed by Michael Musmanno.
