Restaurant to hold "White Appreciation Day"

What started out as a joke, is now going to be a day that many may think is going a little too far.

Owners of a Colorado BBQ restaurant will offer a 10 percent discount to white customers June 11, USA Today reported.


Edgar Antillon and Miguel Jimenez will not offer the discount to anyone else as they mark what the Hispanic owners dubbed "White Appreciation Day."

Their reasoning, according to USA Today, "We have a whole month for black history month. We have a whole month for Hispanic heritage month, so we thought the least we could do was offer one day to appreciate white Americans."

Antillon said the day isn't meant to discriminate, but bring people together, according to KUSA.
