A Georgia college student working as an intern in an elementary school is accused of stealing a 6-year-old student's iPad and selling it online for Christmas cash, the Forsyth County News reported Wednesday.
Kelsey Rose Salie, 21, of Flowery Branch, told investigators she had taken the device and sold it through her boyfriend’s Facebook page, according to the report. But the buyer noticed the parents’ contact information when the iPad was activated and called the owners of the device, who then called police.
Salie, a junior at North Georgia College and State University, was identified in her boyfriend’s Facebook photos by the student, the newspaper reported. Salie was arrested, charged with misdemeanor theft and booked into the Forsyth County jail. She was released after posting $1,150 bond.
Information on Salie’s arrest will be referred to a student conduct process at the college, but no immediate disciplinary action was taken, a university spokeswoman told the newspaper. Salie could face expulsion, the spokeswoman said.
The $200 was returned to the person who attempted to buy the iPad, according to police.
