Notorious jewel thief Doris Payne has been arrested again.

Payne, 86, was arrested Monday night at a Walmart in metro Atlanta in DeKalb County. She's charged with theft by shoplifting.

According to the police report, police were called to the store around 5 p.m. over a report of a woman shoplifting.

Police said the woman, later identified as Payne, tried hiding items from the pharmacy department, the electronics department and the grocery department.

The items she allegedly tried to steal totaled $86.22, police said.

Payne was also arrested last December at an Atlanta area mall for allegedly stealing a necklace from retailer Von Maur. She was also accused of stealing a pair of earrings from Saks Fifth Avenue another Atlanta mall in October 2015.

Payne was featured in a 2013 documentary, “The Life and Crimes of Doris Payne.”

"I've taken a one and a half carat out of Monte Carlo. There has never been a day that I went to steal that I did not get what I want," Payne said in the documentary.

“According to my research, when she was 20 year old, she started committing crimes,” said Atlanta Police Sgt. Warren Pickard.

Police have said she has made a lifelong career out of stealing.

Mug shots of her arrests date back to the 1960’s.
