Sex, drugs, rock 'n' roll and now an airport restaurant.
Iconic punk and new wave venue CBGB & OMFUG is reopening as New Jersey airport restaurant, according to Gothamist.
The New York club, which offered a stage to up-and-coming artists like The Ramones, Blondie and Patti Smith, closed in 2006. Owner Hilly Kristal, who in addition to running the club made chili from various recipes, died in 2007.
The CBGB L.A.B. (lounge and bar) planned for the Newark Liberty International Airport will offer American-inspired fare developed by chef Harold Moore, who heads Commerce, an upscale New York eatery, according to Rolling Stone.
A photo of the menu for the restaurant was shared on Twitter.
The restaurant will offer salads, matzoh ball soup, sandwiches and Disco Fries. Various chili concoctions will also be offered, a nod to Kristal.
The opening date is not yet released.
