Several car titles and more than 100 car keys were recovered when Clayton County authorities searched Daniel Akpobiyeri’s Garden Walk Boulevard apartment. According to the sheriff’s office, Akpobiyeri was positively identified as the suspect in a Fulton County carjacking case.

That stolen car was recovered Sunday afternoon when Akpobiyeri arranged to meet with what he thought was a potential buyer near his apartment north of Riverdale. Instead, Clayton County deputies were standing by.

“Members of the sheriff’s Patrol Division were waiting for the arrival of the suspect, who was identified as Dainel Akpobiyeri,” a sheriff’s spokesman said in a public advisory. “Akpobiyeri was surrounded quickly by sheriff’s deputies.”

He had with him a signed title the carjacking victim later confirmed was bogus, according to the sheriff’s office. Akpobiyeri was arrested on charges of theft by receiving stolen property and forgery in the second degree.

He is expected to face carjacking charges in Fulton County, the sheriff's office said. Authorities have not said if the other keys and titles are linked to other cases.
