A nine-year-old boy from Kannapolis, North Carolina, received an early Christmas present Sunday.
Zachary Barham was one of the lucky recipients of a Cam Newton football at the Carolina Panthers game in MetLife Stadium.
Barham attended the game with his father, a Charlotte firefighter, to watch the Carolina Panthers take on the New York Giants.
The family was in New York for a Christmas trip and got tickets for the game back in October.
“I said Cam! Cam! And he just started looking at me,” Barham said. “He walked over to me and I’m like this is my chance to get a NFL ball!”
“He comes up to me and gives me the ball and I’m like 'holy cow!' I have a NFL ball in my hand. Then he gave me a fist bump,” Barham added.
Newton giving away footballs to children after touchdowns has become one of the most loved traditions by Carolina Panthers fans.
The Carolina Panthers scored five touchdowns at Sundays game and kept their winning streak alive with a win over the Giants 38-35.
The Panthers are 14-0 on the season.
“It was the best day of my life,” Barham said.
