Downtown Atlanta will be crowded this weekend with gift sellers and buyers, monster truck lovers and Hawks fans, and road projects will block lanes on several metro interstates.
Here’s what you need to know to get around the work zones:
I-20 focus of roadwork
Bridge joint repairs will shut down two westbound lanes of I-20 between McDaniel and Langhorn streets, starting at 9 p.m. Friday and continuing through 5 a.m. Monday.
Other bridge work will block one eastbound lane of I-20 between Fulton Industrial Boulevard and I-285 during the same hours.
On the southwest quadrant of the Perimeter, work on overhead sign structures will close two northbound lanes of I-285 between I-85 and Washington Road all weekend.
One lane of Ga. 400 will be shut down in each direction between Sidney Marcus Boulevard and Wieuca Road from 9 p.m. Friday until 7 p.m. Sunday for fiber optic cable installation.

Rain arrives late in the weekend
While Saturday is expected to be sunny, Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton is forecasting a 40 percent chance of rain later in the day on Sunday.
Morning lows will be around 19 degrees Saturday and 26 Sunday, with afternoon highs each day around 42 degrees, Minton said.
Monster trucks to jam the Georgia Dome
The Georgia Dome hosts the annual Monster Jam truck show at 7 p.m. Saturday, while next door at Philips Arena, the Hawks play the Wizards at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Other events downtown include The Atlanta International Gift & Home Furnishings Market, which continues through Tuesday at AmericasMart.
