Authorities have made an arrest in connection with the disappearance of a teenage girl who has ties to metro Atlanta, according to the Knoxville-based news station WVLT.

The 14-year-old girl was last seen Jan. 13 at her home in Madisonville, Tenn., which is near Knoxville, the FBI said in a statement.

No information was provided on the person arrested by the Monroe County (Tenn.) Sheriff's Office, according to the news station.

The girl previously lived in Lawrenceville for many years before moving to Tennessee in December.

She is 5 feet 3 inches tall, with blonde hair and blue eyes. The FBI thinks she may have traveled to the Corbin, Kentucky, area.

Anyone with information about her whereabouts is asked to call 423-442-3911 or 1-800-TBI-FIND.

Editor's note: An earlier version of the story named the girl. Her name was removed to protect her privacy in light of the rape charge.
