The truck belonging to a missing Cherokee County man was located more than 200 miles away near the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina, police said Thursday. But the 46-year-old has not been found.

Douglas Michael Shockley, of Canton, was last seen at 9 a.m. Monday leaving the Bridgemill area wearing blue jeans and a blue-green shirt, Lt. Jay Baker with the Cherokee sheriff’s office said. Shockley was driving a gray 2015 Nissan Frontier pickup, Baker said.

The truck was located Thursday morning in Haywood County, N.C., about an hour northeast of Asheville.

Investigators with the Cherokee sheriff’s office have been in contact with the Haywood County Sheriff’s Office, Baker said Thursday.

Anyone with information on Shockley’s whereabouts is asked to call police at 678-493-4080.
