The Marietta StreetFest will celebrate its 24th year on Sept. 19 and 20 in Glover Park on the Historic Marietta Square, 50 North Park Square.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sept. 19 and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sept. 20 with free admission.

There will be free parking in decks at Waddell and Lawrence Streets.

This year the festival is extending to two days, including arts and crafts, vintage vehicles, local musicians and children's offerings.

Established in 1992, the Marietta StreetFest is a fundraiser for the Marietta Museum of History, 1 Depot St., for which there is free admission on both days.

Just west of the Marietta Square in the Kennesaw House, the museum was built as a cotton warehouse in 1845 and houses four galleries with collections from the Civil War, Local History, Homelife and the Military.

Drawing an estimated 12,000 attendees annually, the festival puts the focus on families with many free activities, including giant inflatables in the Kids Zone, make-and-take projects and interactive stations.

Adults may visit the arts and crafts vendors, check out the Classic Car Cruise-In for cars and motorcycles and enjoy the Grassroots Music Festival with bands and singer/songwriters from throughout the metro area who will perform original music beginning at 3 p.m. Sept. 19.

Listeners may bring blankets, lawn chairs and a picnic for the afternoon and evening performances.

StreetFest's location on the Square provides additional opportunities for guests to tour any of four registered historic districts or visit the surrounding museums, shops, antique stores, boutiques and restaurants with indoor and outdoor café seating.

This year StreetFest will welcome Andretti Indoor Karting and Games entertainment center, the Atlanta Hawks, Atlanta Braves and Zoo Atlanta.

Free activities for children include inflatables, sidewalk chalk, bubbles, a water play table and more - like Tiny Tot Town and an interactive area designed for toddlers and presented by Atlanta Parent Magazine.

Additional activities - like sand art, glitter tattoos and bracelet making - are available for a small fee.

Snacks available for purchase will include roasted nuts, kettle corn, fudge, candied apples and cotton candy.

Marietta StreetFest has been recognized as a Southeastern Tourism Society Top 20 Event for many years.
