An argument at a gated apartment complex in southwest Atlanta led to a stabbing that left a 27-year-old man dead.

The incident happened late Wednesday night at the Deerfield Gardens apartments on Campbellton Road.

The victim, identified by the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office as Nicholas Roberts of Atlanta, was visiting the complex when the argument broke out, police said.

“We know for sure that he was visiting one of the residents here,” Atlanta police Lt. Charles Hampton told Channel 2 Action News. “We’re not sure what the argument was really about. There are other people that were also inside the residence and they are cooperating with the investigation.”
