The Cobb County man accused of shooting at police officers who then returned fire has been moved from the hospital to the jail, where he was being held Tuesday on seven felony charges.
Brian Thomas Ohlmann, 37, of Marietta, was booked into the Cobb jail Monday afternoon, one week after he was in critical condition at WellStar Kennestone Hospital, according to police.
Shortly after midnight on May 11, officers were called to the Hillcrest Plaza Mobile Home Park on Atlanta Road on a complaint of loud music, Officer Alicia Chilton previously said.
When they spoke to the man on one of the lots, he went inside the trailer, got a 9 mm gun and threatened to shoot officers, according to police.
“When officers attempted to negotiate with the suspect to get him out of the home, he began to shoot at them,” Chilton said. “Officers returned fire, and the suspect was struck.”
Ohlmann was taken to Kennestone in critical condition. No officers were injured.
Ohlmann was charged with five counts of aggravated assault on a police officer and possession of a firearm during a felony, all felony charges. He was being held Tuesday on $75,000 bond, jail records showed.
