A person struck and killed by a train Thursday in Atlanta has been identified as a homeless man named Alberto Rivera, according to the Fulton County medical examiner’s office.

Rivera, 60, was struck by the train at Wells Street east of Metropolitan Parkway at 1:45 p.m. Thursday, according to Atlanta police. Preliminary reports said the train may have severed the victim's legs.
