A 32-year-old man has been charged with murder in the death of a man shot multiple times Tuesday afternoon, the Bartow County Sheriff's Office said.

Truitt Jermaine Cousin was “acting extremely strange and was screaming profanities and random words,” when deputies responded to the shooting at an apartment on Iron Bell Court near Cartersville, Sheriff Clark Millsap previously said.

Jamaal Terrell Williams, 32, of Cartersville, was found inside the apartment with multiple gunshot wounds and later died at Floyd Medical Center.

Cousin, who was taken into custody at the scene, was charged Wednesday morning, Millsap said in a news release. He is being held in the Bartow County jail pending a Superior Court bond hearing.
