The body of a man was found Monday on the shore of Lake Lanier, according to the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

Visitors at Mary Alice Park in Cumming spotted the body shortly before noon and called 911, Deputy Robin Regan told the AJC. Investigators remained at the scene Monday afternoon, Regan said.

There are no known recent reports of anyone missing in the area. But deputies are contacting neighboring agencies in the area for information on any missing persons reports in those area, Regan said.

The county’s coroner is expected to conduct an autopsy and determine the identity.
