A 55.73-acre site just outside the Hampton city limits had its R-3 zoning reverted to R-A (residential-agricultural) July 18 by the Henry County Board of Commissioners.

The R-3 zoning, enacted in 2006, would have allowed up to 88 residential lots. According to a staff report, a previously planned subdivision never was developed, which has led to this change. A representative told the board that there was no movement to develop anything with R-3 density and the land owner may consider larger homes on estate lots in the future.
