Water utility crews will close all but one lane of Lower Roswell Road for more than a day this week.

Crews are paving Lower Roswell from 9 a.m. Wednesday to 4 p.m. Thursday between Indian Hills Parkway and Anniston Court, Cobb County said.

That’s about 1,200 feet of Lower Roswell — an east-west artery with a lane heading in each direction and a middle turn lane — before it passes Mount Bethel United Methodist Church.

Here’s what East Cobb Pipeline construction looked like along Lower Roswell Road in late 2016.

To avoid what could be a slow drive, the county suggests using Old Canton, Roswell or Johnson Ferry roads for your commute.

All this work is to finish up the East Cobb Pipeline, a once-in-a-generation job for the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority, the second-largest provider of drinking water in Georgia.

The authority said in early February that 70 percent of the pipeline had been completed.
