Cobb County police said today that they are investigating after an 80-year-old woman died following a multi-vehicle crash in Marietta.
Bobbie Jean Casey, of Smyrna, was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a wreck around 1:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Macland and John Ward roads.
Investigators said Casey was riding in a white 1993 Toyota Camry driven by Judy Williams, 58, of Hapeville. The Camry was traveling westbound on Macland Road and approaching the intersection as a white 2011 Toyota Sienna was traveling eastbound in the left turn lane to John Ward. Police said the driver of the Sienna, identified as 82-year-old Ray Eichenlaub of Marietta, turned into the path of the Camry.
The Camry hit the passenger side of the Sienna, then went through the intersection and hit a 2008 Chevrolet Trailblazer that was stopped on John Ward.
Casey was transported by ambulance to Atlanta Medical Center, where she died. No other injuries were reported in the collision.
No charges have been filed in the crash, police said. Anyone with information about the wreck should call Cobb police at 770-499-3987.
