A man killed in a wreck on I-85 in DeKalb County Thursday has been identified.

DeKalb police spokeswoman Lt. Pam Kunz said Peter Chevannes, 70, died in the wreck in the southbound lanes of the interstate just north of Clairmont Road. Police believe Chevannes suffered a medical emergency that caused him to lose control of his car, Kunz said. No other vehicles were involved in the wreck.

All southbound lanes of the interstate were closed for several hours but were reopened around 3 p.m.
