A new link in Woodstock’s growing trail system has opened.
City elected and parks officials attended a Friday ribbon-cutting for a 600-foot bridge and boardwalk connecting the Woofstock dog park with the Town to Creek and Noonday Creek Trails. Those two paved trails link downtown Woodstock with Ga. 92.
Work on the $400,000 project started this summer, and was paid for by Cherokee County’s 2008 parks bond issue, said Parks director Preston Pooser.
Next up for the Greenprints trail system: a summer groundbreaking for the Towne Lake Pass trail, which will link the just-completed boardwalk with Woodstock High School, giving Towne Lake residents trail access to downtown Woodstock.
