Woodstock street to close for sewer work

The Woodstock City Council has authorized closing Linton Street east of Main Street for up to six weeks while an 8-inch sanitary sewer main is laid to connect the Adair Park development to city lines.

Windsong Properties LLC said in a letter to the city that it is developing a parcel at Main and Linton and was asked by the Adair Park, across Main, to help it reach a sanitary sewer manhole near its land. This will require making an open cut in Linton and running the sewer 310 feet down the street.

By authorizing Linton’s closure between Main and Dean streets, Windsong said the city would also give the developer the chance to widen Linton and install curb and gutter for parallel parking. It said it believed the work could be finished in four weeks, but requested six weeks to allow for inclement weather.

Windsong said its traffic re-routing plan would ensure emergency access to all dwellings on Linton, Dean and Dobbs Road.
