Woodstock sets qualifying dates for City Council election

The qualifying period will begin next Monday in Woodstock for persons interested in running for three City Council seats in the Nov. 5 municipal election.

According to a city announcement, qualifying will take place in the office of the city clerk at the Woodstock Annex, 12453 Highway 92, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19; and from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, and Wednesday, Aug. 21. The qualifying fee is $342.

Seats up for election are for Council Member Ward 2 (David Potts, incumbent); Ward 4 (Tracy Collins, incumbent); and Ward 6 (Rob Usher, incumbent). Candidates run by ward but are elected at-large by majority vote, the city said.
