The Woodstock City Council this week approved two budget amendments aimed at improvements in the city’s park system.
The council voted to transfer $75,000 from city impact fees to the parks budget. The money is being used to award a bid from Hasley Recreation for $48,950 and another from Architectural Design Specialists for $6,295 to equipment the Dupree Park Fitness Trail with outdoor fitness equipment.
Council members also signed off on spending $20,500 on a project to construct several trail segments on the nine-mile Avalanche Mountain Bike Trail on the north side of Rope Mill Park. The new segments will extend the trail to bathroom and changing facilities, and correct hazards that have developed as portions of the trail have eroded.
