After an internal search, the city of Woodstock has named Sylvia Breitbart program manager for the Office of Economic Development.

Breitbart assumed the new position April 11. She has been with Woodstock since June 2018 as citizen request for action coordinator and with customer service in the utility billing office, according to a city announcement.

She will administer the city's economic development strategy, and serve as secretary for the Downtown Development Authority and chief operations officer for IN WDSTK, a 501(c)6 organization that is the overall economic development entity for Woodstock. Before coming to Woodstock, Breitbart had office and sales management roles with local companies and national firms such as AT&T.

“Sylvia was identified as a candidate for this position early on in the search, and I am confident that the relationships she already has established across all city departments and her customer service and sales background will allow her to hit the ground running,” said Economic Development Director Brian Stockton.
