The Woodstock City Council has extended its contract with City Manager Jeffrey S. Moon through the end of 2019.

Moon became city manager in April 2008 and his most recent contract ran through the end of this year. The Council on recently approved a two-year extension.

Moon has served more than 25 years in city government, according to the Woodstock city website. His jobs prior to Woodstock were as city administrator in Orange Beach, Ala., 2001 to 2008; city manager in Riverdale, 1996 to 2001; and assistant to the mayor in his hometown of Daleville, Ala., 1991 to 1996.

He has a master’s in economic development from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a bachelor’s in social science education from Troy University.
