Concert-goers in Woodstock will be allowed to bring coolers no larger than 28 quarts, and restricted when they can put out chairs, under updated rules approved by the City Council for the Northside Hospital Cherokee Amphitheater.

The limit on cooler size joins existing rules allowing cloth bags and soft packs smaller than 12-by-17-by-12 inches; food and beverages; and alcoholic beverages in cups. No glass bottles or containers are permitted.

The new, “Early Chair Placement” rules say chairs cannot be put out in the park until after 5 p.m. the Thursday before a Woodstock Summer Concert Series performance. Chairs placed before that time will be removed and put in a non-secure holding area on site until 8 a.m. Monday, when they will be determined to be abandoned and discarded.

Amphitheater management has discretion to declare a similar, early chair placement rule if necessary for rental events. There will be no early chair placement for gated/ticketed events.

The rules will be enforced by the Woodstock Police Department.
