A woman was killed Tuesday after she was ejected from her car in a two-vehicle crash on I-85 in Gwinnett County, police said.

Kala S. Parham of Dacula was driving northbound in the left lane near the entrance ramp for Hamilton Mill Road, according to the Gwinnett police incident report. The driver of the other vehicle, who was traveling northbound in the right lane, said Parham’s car passed him and began to cross into his lane, police said.

The other driver tried to avoid a collision, and said Parham’s car, a Toyota Camry, collided with his Jeep Wrangler, police said. Both vehicles went out of control and into a culvert.

Parham was not wearing a seat belt, police said.

Both cars were impounded, and the investigation is ongoing.
