A woman was critically injured Wednesday when a tree fell on her car in a Decatur neighborhood.

Police told Channel 2 Action News that the woman was driving north on Clifton Road near the Emory University campus when the pine tree crashed on top of her car.

“I woke up this morning, and I heard a woman screaming and screaming and screaming, and she didn’t stop,” neighbor Ardent Hollingsworth told Channel 2. “And this man said, ‘Calm down. Calm down,’ and he asked her to shut off the car.”

Firefighters had to cut the unidentified woman out of the car. She was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where she was critical condition.
