Mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus at 12 sites in Fulton County, and as a precaution the county health department will spray an insecticide around the Wolf Creek Amphitheater before Saturday’s Labor Day Music Festival.

Concertgoers, and anyone else going out this weekend, should wear long sleeves and long pants and bring insect repellent, said Kevin Jones, Deputy Director for Environmental Health Services. The amphitheater is the first of several places being barrier sprayed with the chemical Permethrin, a fine mist put on foliage and surrounding vegetation. Several parks where mosquitoes tested positive will also be barrier sprayed: Grove Park, Springvale Park, Frankie Allen Park, Wills Park and Bobby Jones Golf Course.
