If you're stuck at home and looking to do something with your kids during the coronavirus outbreak, look no further than the DeKalb County Public Library's Facebook page.

The library system decided last week to close all of its branches due to the spreading virus, around the same time schools announced they would not be open for at least two weeks.

To make up for the closures, librarians are now hosting “virtual storytime” every weekday on Facebook Live.

Families can visit the library system's Facebook page Monday through Friday at 4 p.m. to stream the book readings. The videos are also available to view afterwards.

The library system operates about 20 branches across the county. For now, employees will continue to work and be paid due to the online library services the county offers, said Alison Weissinger, the county’s library director.

Officials will continue to monitor the situation in order to decide when to open back up. All library-sponsored programs in DeKalb are also canceled through at least March 31.
