The far northern suburbs could see a little snow early Wednesday, and all of metro Atlanta will see much colder morning temperatures as yet another frigid blast makes its way into the deep South.
“It’s going to be a very cold one starting tomorrow and the next morning,” Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton said.
Minton said temperatures will fall to around 34 degrees early Wednesday before only reaching the mid-40s Wednesday afternoon.
There’s a 30 to 40 percent chance of rain late Tuesday and early Wednesday, and that rain could become mixed with snow generally along and north of a line from Cedartown to Dahlonega.
Bartow, Cherokee, Forsyth and Hall counties are among the counties at risk for a few flurries early Wednesday.
“At this time, expect portions of far north Georgia to see light accumulations of .5 inch or less,” the National Weather Service said early Tuesday, adding that roads could become slick overnight at the higher elevations.
Thursday and Friday will be sunny but cold, with morning lows in the mid- to upper 20s and afternoon highs in the low to mid-50s.
A 20 percent chance of showers is forecast for Saturday, along with lows in the mid-30s and highs in the mid-50s.
