A $400,000 20x The Money lottery ticket was sold at a Panola Food Mart in Lithonia. The winning ticket was paid Aug. 22, 2016 after being purchased at the retailer.

The lucky ticket was one of at least 68 winning 20X The Money tickets claimed in the metro Atlanta area from July to October, according to data from the Georgia Lottery Corporation. The lottery provided data on prizes exceeding $600.

At least $107.8 million in winnings was claimed during that time from tickets sold at area retailers.  All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia's HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia's Pre-K program.
