Winder officials will host a public forum for residents to provide feedback on a proposed central gathering space at 6:30 p.m. March 20 at the Winder Community Center 113 E. Athens St.

The proposed redevelopment project would mean closing North Jackson Street between Midland Avenue and East Candler Street and converting the area into a pedestrian gathering area. A portion of the area, at the corners of Broad Street/Midland Avenue and Jackson Street/Midland Avenue would be converted to a parking area.

This project would also correct the dangerous intersection that results from the misalignment of North Jackson Street and Midland Avenue.
