New sports lighting will be coming to Wildhorse Creek Park due to Tuesday’s 5-0 vote by the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.

AllStar Lighting and Electrical Service will be paid $235,733 to replace wooden light poles with concrete light poles, install sports lighting fixtures and related equipment and relocate other concrete light poles for the park at 3820 Macedonia Road in Powder Springs.

One softball field will be converted to a football field, and another softball field will be prepared for the relocation of the BMX bicycle facility.

Funding will come from the 2011 special purpose local option sales tax.
