Georgia Department of Transportation officials will hold a public hearing and open house this week to discuss plans to widen Ga. 9 from Upper Hembree Road to Windward Parkway in North Fulton.
The informal event is set for 4 p.m.-7 p.m. June 23 at Alpharetta City Hall, 2 Park Plaza. Members of the public will be able to ask questions and leave comments on the proposed 3.6-mile project, which would widen the road to two travel lanes in each direction and add a raised median and additional turn lanes. The project would also add or upgrade traffic and pedestrian signals, sidewalks and bike lanes.
State officials said no timetable has been set for construction. More information: www.dot.ga.gov.
