Across the country, communities are joining together to promote crime prevention as part of National Night Out.

The annual event was created by the National Association of Town Watch to encourage improved relationships between law enforcement and the people living in the communities they serve. The hope is that through better relations, residents will be more willing to aid officers, and officers will be better able to protect residents.
