The owner of a Cobb County jewelry store plans to increase security after being robbed and pistol-whipped in the business, according to police. Now, store employees hope surveillance images will help lead police to the suspects.

The trio entered My Jeweler on Spring Road in Smyrna last week claiming they planned to sell some jewelry. One of the suspects soon left the store, but moments later, the other two men had the store's owner at gunpoint, Channel 2 Action News reported.

“The owner was being super cooperative with them, doing whatever they told him to do,” Smyrna Officer Michael Smith told Channel 2.

But even after the suspects helped themselves to bags of jewelry, one then pistol-whipped the store owner before would-be customers apparently halted the heist. The suspects left the store with the jewelry without doing further harm to anyone.

An employee of the store hopes images of the well-dressed suspects prompts someone to call Smyrna police.

“They did a terrible act, they violently hit him in the head with a gun, and had it not been interrupted, we don’t know what might have happened,” Cornelius Faison said.

Anyone with information about this daylight robbery is asked to call the Smyrna Police Department at 770-434-6666.
