If it’s almost the weekend, it must be time for rain to come creeping into the forecast for metro Atlanta – again.

Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton said there’s a 20 percent chance of rain on Thursday, increasing to 30 percent Friday and 40 percent Saturday as a front stalls near north Georgia.

“If you have outdoor plans for Saturday, please have a plan B,” Minton said. “It looks like you will be dodging showers and thundershowers on Saturday.”

By Sunday, the chance of rain decreases slightly to 30 percent, Minton said.

This would be metro Atlanta’s fourth consecutive weekend with rain, according to the National Weather Service. Atlanta’s rainfall surplus for 2013 is currently 8.04 inches.

Temperatures will be warm, with highs around 83 degrees daily through Sunday and overnight lows in the mid-60s.
