Warmer – and wetter – weather is on tap for the weekend, but first, metro Atlantans out and about early Thursday had to deal with a second straight morning of very cold temperatures.

Temperatures before daybreak Thursday ranged from 21 in Cartersville and 22 in Peachtree City to 27 in Marietta and 30 at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

Other readings included 23 in Alpharetta and Chamblee and 24 in Dunwoody.

The normal high for mid-November is 64 degrees, the normal low 45. Weekend temperatures will be much closer to those marks, according to Channel 2 meteorologist Karen Minton.

Minton is predicting highs of 56 Thursday, 53 Friday, 64 Saturday and 68 Sunday. Monday’s high should be in the low 70s, she said.

Overnight lows will be much warmer the rest of the week, bottoming out around 40 degrees Thursday night, 45 Friday night, 56 Saturday night and 58 Sunday night.

A good chance of rain will accompany the warmer temperatures, Minton said.

She said the chance of rain is 20 percent Friday and Saturday, increasing to 60 percent Sunday.
