Metro Atlantans should brace for a cold Thursday night as temperatures dip to the low 40s in the city, and down to the 30s in the suburbs, according to Channel 2 Action News meteorologist David Chandley.

The National Weather Service has issued a freeze warning in areas west and northwest of Atlanta, and a frost advisory in other areas, Chandley said.

The cold night will give way to a chilly Friday morning with a low around 40, but expect a mild temp of 67 in the afternoon and lots of sunshine, said Chandley. Then Saturday’s weather will be downright pleasant, with a high of 72.

Thursday afternoon’s high reached 60, nearly 10 degrees warmer than Wednesday’s high of 51. Normal high for Nov. 8 is 66, the normal low 47.
